Insurance — Starting January 1, 2027

Insurance Accepted Starting January 1, 2027

Affordable Psych will begin accepting insurance on January 1, 2027. Cash-pay stays available, and insurance visits are protected by our insurance cap.

Insurance is an added option, not a replacement. Every insurance visit is covered by the insurance cap: we bill insurance about 15% above our cash price for the same visit.

The insurance cap

  • Insurance visits are billed at about 15% above our cash price for the same visit.
  • Your copay, coinsurance, or deductible still applies, calculated on that capped amount.
  • The cap applies to every visit we bill to insurance.
  • Cash-pay stays available. Insurance is an added option.

Which insurance plans?

We’re finalizing contracts with insurance plans now. Each plan will be listed here by name once its contract is signed and has an effective date, so check back as January gets closer.

If your plan isn’t listed, you can still be seen as a self-pay patient. We’ll give you a superbill you can submit to your plan for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Insurance FAQ

When will Affordable Psych start accepting insurance?
January 1, 2027. Until then, all visits are cash-pay at our current published prices.
Which insurance plans will you accept?
We are finalizing contracts with insurance plans now. We will list each plan on this page by name once its contract is signed and has an effective date. If your plan is not listed, you can be seen as a self-pay patient and we will give you a superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
What is the insurance cap?
The insurance cap is our pricing promise for insurance visits: we bill insurance about 15% above our cash price for the same visit. For example, a new patient evaluation is $175 cash-pay and $200 billed to insurance.
Will I still owe a copay, coinsurance, or deductible?
Yes. Your plan’s copay, coinsurance, or deductible still applies, but it is applied to the capped amount.
Is cash-pay going away?
No. Transparent cash-pay pricing is still the core of Affordable Psych. Insurance is an added option.
Can I book now, before January 1?
Yes. We see patients in Utah, Idaho, and Nevada now as cash-pay patients. Most new patients are seen within two weeks.
Do you prescribe controlled substances?
No. Affordable Psych does not prescribe controlled substances, whether you pay cash or use insurance.
